Where FirstPrint comes from
FirstPrint draws on foot reading, an old practice of looking carefully at the feet, written about over the years by several published authors. We borrow its spirit to write a poetic portrait, like a keepsake. For keepsake and entertainment only. Not a prediction.
An old way of looking
Long before FirstPrint, people read character from the feet. The arches, the curve of the toes, the lines along the sole. Each was taken as a small, tender clue about temperament and sensibility. It is a tradition of careful observation, closer to storytelling than to science, and it has been described in print by a handful of dedicated authors.
We take from it the part we love most: the habit of looking slowly, and of letting what we see become a gentle piece of writing. FirstPrint is not a continuation of any one author's method, and it makes no claims that any of it is proven. It is an inspiration, a starting point for a keepsake, nothing more.
